Crossing the State Lines - Exhibition in Baker City, Oregon

My Upcoming Two Person Exhibition at the Crossroads Carnegie Art Center in Baker, Oregon = Twice as much color and art for one exhibition!

I think you're going to like this one - I have been paired up with a lovely young artist from Baker City who has a lot in common with little old me. Through facebook stalking - eeerrr...I mean Research, (yes! Research!)  I have discovered that she's an outdoorsy, color infused, texture loving, free range chicken mama! I am excited to meet her and show our work together. You can see more of her work here and here.

Have you ever had the pleasure of visiting Baker City, viewing the beautifully jaw dropping historic Victorian, Gothic, Queen Anne, and Craftsman homes, indulging in the history and enjoying the culture? Baker City is a real charmer!

The Crossroads Carnegie Arts Center is located in downtown Baker City, in what once was the Carnegie Library. It's a stone gem.

Very Addicting.
These little cuties took anywhere from 2-6 hours to complete!
I have to stand firm - when I take the Christmas Tree down, I will have to put the polymer clay away too.
Until next wint

Throw Back Thursday

Over the Holidays I got to spend some quality time with my wonderful mother. We ate, we drank, we rummaged through the old and the new. Learning things about the family and looking at photos and old artwork lying around was wonderful. I was so content I almost purred.

Little Lauren on the left. I do not remember the teddy bear, but I do remember my sister's Jelly Shoes quite fondly.

Then....
I discovered my mother is an art thief.

She showed me doodles and sketches from my youth and through my first years of college.
Then She said to me "Did you ever find the one that I hid?"
"What? What did you hide?"
"The one that is mine." (insert sheepish giggles here)

The drawing my mother hid behind a giraffe picture for 13 years.
Later she informed me that I left it at her house and it became her property. NOW I know. Really, I suppose it is a fair assumption. Though I believe I still lived there when she thieved the picture. We hung it in her living room so she no longer has to live in fear.
